Guizhou University convened a meeting on August 21st during the 4th China ASEAN International Conference on Mountain Agriculture and Green Plant Protection to recommend the creation of an international organization for plant protection cooperation.
Wang Qiao, a professor at Guizhou University and the fellow of the Royal New Zealand Academy of Sciences, presented the proposal to form the International Plant Protection Cooperation Organization, outlining the reasons for its inception, responsibilities, formation of the secretariat, member organizations, and advantages it offers.
Choltis Dhirathiti, Executive Director of the ASEAN University Alliance Secretariat, along with Academician Song Bao'an, President of Guizhou University, and experts and scholars from various countries such as China, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka, have shared their thoughts and recommendations on the proposed initiative. They are hopeful that with collective efforts, the International Plant Protection Cooperation Organization can be effectively established.
