The State Key Laboratory of Green Pesticides, based at Guizhou University in Guiyang, Guizhou, China, is a national research and innovation centre for environmentally friendly management of plant pests (arthropods, pathogens and weeds). We focus on basic and applied science, aiming to develop novel green pesticides and ecologically based pest control technologies. Our mission is to find global solutions in food security and safety and impact of crop production on environment and launch a new generation of innovative thinkers in these fields.

The Laboratory possesses world-class research facilities and vibrant personnel, including state-of-the-art equipment,18,000 square meters laboratory space, two academicians, more than 40 key faculty members, and hundreds of postgraduates with over 80 being PhD students. Our Laboratory has obtained invention patents exceeding 160 and published greater than 1,000 papers in top international journals such as Nature Biotechnology, Nature Chemistry, Nature Communications, Nature Plants, Nature Synthesis, Advanced Science, Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, Journal of Pest Science, Nucleic Acids Research and PNAS. We collaborate widely with national and international scientists and organizations and actively recruit young faculty members with excellent publication records from around the world.

The Laboratory is located on the park-like campus with lively cultural and recreational activities and 5 min walk away from the National Wetland Park with about 20 km paved foot and bike paths along the beautiful Huaxi River. Via express highways or subways, the campus is within 40-min range to reach Guiyang, the international airport, and bullet train stations. Our world-class transportation networks make it easy, fast and comfortable to access all cities across China and beyond. Guizhou is named by the UN as one of the top ten tourist destinations in the world.
